BREAKING NEWS: David Okeme leaves Unilever, joins RemitaNet as Chief Marketing Officer

David Okeme, has left Unilever to start as the new Chief Marketing Officer at RemitaNet.

Until recently, he was the Marketing Director of Unilever Nigeria, where he had an illustrious marketing career spanning countries and cultures. A multiple career-award winner, David has initiated many successful traditional and digital marketing initiatives.

His work experience with Unilever covers the 4 Marketing lanes – Brand Development, Brand Building, and Customer Development & Customer Marketing. His unique achievements span from 2009, where he had a high contribution to Unilever Global incremental turnover growth, he also managed Oral for Unilever in AMET, and achieved business growth 20%+ CAGR for 3 years with margins at 40%+.

His Core skill platforms consists: Consumers Understanding, Route to Market/Territory Mgt/Trade Channels/Trade Terms etc (on the team that set up the RTM for Nigeria), Operations from Go-to-Mkt capability/Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)/Customer Service Excellence/Brand Health driven by strong Consumer Loyalty, and General Management.

In the last 3 years, he has managed a very innovative and entrepreneurial team to where he continued to demonstrate marketing Leadership (Winning 2013 Nigeria Brand of the Year and recently 2014 Unilever PC Category Digital Campaign Execution Excellence Award), 2 International Awards for Brand Activation/Market Development, Silver Asia AMET Activation Awards, 2006; Gold, Asia AMET Mkt Devt Awards, 2010.

His education background include University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School, London Business School, Market Driving Strategies, Lagos Business School, Chief Executives Programme (CEP 21), General Management, University of Jos BA (Hons).
